Description and record details
Reference | LAB 34 |
---|---|
Title | Ministry of Labour and successors: Trade Disputes: Record Books |
Date | 1901-1978 |
Description | This series contains analyses of returns of all strikes and lock outs from 1901. They are analysed by industry, location and occupation, and give details of the number of workers affected, the period covered by the dispute, the cause and the outcome. |
Arrangement | From piece 65 onwards, in each entry, the industry is identified by its Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) number, (which was adopted by all government departments in 1948 to give official statistics greater uniformity), as well as its Ministry of Labour number. Between 1960 and 1966, the analyses for the coalmining industry (SIC 2) were presented separately from all other industry's analyses, and each volume title indicates the SIC numbers of the industries included in the volume. |
