This series contains files representative of important cases heard by industrial tribunals in respect of the right of employees to appeal against unfair dismissal under the Industrial Relations Act 1971, the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1974, and the Employment Protection Act 1975.

Administrative/ biographical background

The Industrial Relations Act 1971 among other things gave employees the right to appeal against unfair dismissal. This provision was re-enacted in the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1974 and amended by the Employment Protection Act 1975.
