Description | Enrolments of deeds and instruments relating to the purchase, sale, lease and exchange of Crown lands, made in the Office of Land Revenue Records and Enrolments. These enrolments by books were made after the separation of the Office of Works from the Office of Woods, Forests and Land Revenues in 1851, by, successively, the Office of Works (1852-1940), the Ministry of Works and Buildings (1940-1942) and the Ministry of Works and Planning (1942-1943). They relate to royal parks and gardens and other lands under the management of the Commissioners of Works and their successors down to the middle of the Second World War. |
