Administrative/ biographical background | The Office of Land Revenue Records and Enrolments maintained this series of registers solely as a matter of administrative convenience. Until 1852, these were the only registers of enrolments, but in that year registration of deeds enrolled by deposit was made compulsory under statute 15 & 16 Vict, c62. |
