Description | Folio 27. Letter from George Spencer, Clerk to the Guardians of the Keighley Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, saying that he is directed by the guardians to inform the them that Joseph Waterhouse, Assistant Master of the Keighley workhouse, has recently got married and that his mother, the matron, is not able to manage the workhouse on her own. The guardians have therefore asked them both to resign their posts on the 26 March and they have agreed to do so. The guardians have therefore advertised for anther master and matron. Annotation: ask the clerk to input the results of the election as soon as it is concluded. Paper Number: 13351/1851. Poor Law Union Number 571. Counties: Yorkshire West Riding. |
