Description | Folios 321-323. Letter from George Spencer, Clerk to the Guardians of the Keighley Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, responding to request to forward particulars of the appointment of Mr Bernard Green junior to the office of Relieving Officer. He encloses for approval the appointment form for Green. The form shows Green, of Keighley, had been an Assistant Relieving Officer and an Assistant Overseer, Keighley. The salary to be £105 per annum, on a temporary basis. He is responsible for Keighley district (Keighley, Sutton, Steeton and Haworth). The post became vacant because of the death of the relieving officer, Bernard Green, the elder. Annotated: the Board have no objections to the appointment, but given that it is temporary, the Board would like to know what further arrangements the guardians have made. Paper Number: 7329/1854.
