Description | Folios 341-344. Letter from George Spencer, Clerk to the Guardians of the Keighley Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board. In compliance with their letter of 24 April, number 12500/1854, he encloses for approval the appointment form for John Binns as Assistant Relieving Officer. The form shows Binns now of Keighley and hoping to remove to Haworth, had assisted the relieving officer of Keighley for the last three months and was formally a draper. The salary to be £40 per annum. He is responsible for Haworth. The post became vacant after the death of Bernard Green. The guardians have received testimonials from Messrs Weatherhead and Burr, Solicitors. Annotated: sanction this appointment and that of Mr Green as Relieving Officer. Paper Number: 14231/1854. Poor Law Union Number 571. Counties: Yorkshire West Riding. |
