Description | Folio 374. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to John Milligan, Medical Officer, [Keighley Poor Law Union], acknowledging receipt of his letter of 24 May. The committees of the House of Commons sat in 1837 and 1838 to enquire generally into the administration of relief to the poor. They occasionally presented their evidence in 22 reports in the first year and 49 reports in the second. The general reports of the committees and the indexes of the reports and evidence are supplementary papers 481, 1 and 2 of the 1837 session and supplementary papers 681, 1 and 2 of the 1838 session.
