Description | Folios 512-514. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to George Spencer, Clerk to the Guardians of the Keighley Poor Law Union, enclosing a draft copy of a letter they sent to Thomas Pearson, Assistant Overseer of Steeton in regards to the auditor's report. In the enclosed draft letter to Pearson they hope that no further irregularities will arise in regards to delivering copies of the monthly statements to the guardians. They also send a copy of the general order of accounts [not included] and point out the necessity of conforming to it. The Board will take serious notice of any neglect on his part. Also included is a draft letter addressed to the overseers of Steeton noting that there has been an irregularity in the performance of duties by Pearson. The Board stress the importance of the overseers' superintending the proceedings of the assistant overseer. Paper Number: 40726/1854. Poor Law Union Number 571. Counties: Yorkshire West Riding. |
