Description | Folios 522-523. Letter from T Micklethwaite, Auditor, West Yorkshire District, to the Poor Law Board, listing the imperfections in the books of John Sawley, Master of the Bingley Workhouse. These were that failure to make regular entries of admissions and discharges and indoor relief had led to omissions and erasures in the Masters Day Book. The daily provisions consumption account did not tally with the number of paupers said to be in the house which resulted in errors in the weekly and quarterly accounts. Mr Micklethwaite said that Mr Sawley was anxious to master the system of bookkeeping and promised improvements. Paper Number: 44548/1854. See also Paper Number: 42534/1854. Poor Law Union Number 571. Counties: Yorkshire West Riding. |
