Description | Folio 743. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Edward Sutcliffe, Relieving Officer of Bingley, Keighley Poor Law Union, acknowledging his letter of 15 June and asking that they be furnished with a full statement of the facts in the case of Hannah Jowett and an explanation of the circumstances which led to his error in charging relief to her after her death. They also wish for an explanation in the case of Famar Laycock [Tamar Laycock]. Annotated: Mr Austin [Alfred Austin, Poor Law Inspector] for his information. This seems unsatisfactory.
