Description | Folio 132. Draft letter from William Golden Lumley, Assistant Secretary to Poor Law Commission to Charles Bond, Clerk to the Guardians of the Axminster Poor Law Union regarding Petty Sessional Divisions. Refers to Acts 2& 3 Wm 4 c 64 and 7& 8 Vic c 61 whereby the parish of Thorncombe is transferred from the county of Devon into the county of Dorset and the parish of Stockland is transferred from the county of Dorset into the county of Devon. Letter requests fresh list on enclosed form [not included] of the most accurate information regarding Petty Sessional arrangements for the Axminster Poor Law Union and states if two or more clerks act for any single division their respective address should be provided. Annotation - List received 2457/A/1846. on 6 March 1846 and deposited with Petty Session Returns dated 11 March 1846. Paper Number: 2120/A/1846. Poor Law Union Number 76.
