Description | Folios 148-149. Letter from Robert Bonfield, Chardstock, Axminster Poor Law Union to Poor Law Commission. Bonfield states that one of the relieving officers of the union has resigned on 20 March [1846]. Is this person eligible to become a Guardian? He lives in the parish and is otherwise qualified. Annotation - Commission states if this person has resigned and has resignation has been accepted and no other office is held in the union the fact he was Relieving Officer would not render him ineligible for the office of Guardian if otherwise qualified. 25 March 1846.
