Description | Folio 154. Draft letter from Poor Law Commission to W Head, Guardian for Seaton and Beer, Axminster Poor Law Union. Acknowledges receipt of letter dated 24 March 1846 and answers questions contained therein as follows, that without knowing the circumstances of the case, state that a person having been bankrupt or taken benefit from Insolvent act is not legally disqualified from the office of Relieving Officer; the Chairman has a single vote and not second or casting vote, but may exercise his right of a single vote on any issue before the Commission.
