Description | Folio 279. Draft letter from Poor Law Commission to Charles Bond, Clerk to the Guardians of the Axminster Poor Law Union. Acknowledges receipt of letter dated 25 May 1846 which draw attention to sums allowed in several cases by Robert Tucker, Auditor for the Axminster Poor Law Union, particularly some journeys of overseers to the treasurer, to pay contributions, are disproportionate in relation to other overseers for journeys of a similar purpose. The Commission have communicated with Tucker and enclose an extract [not included] from his letter and states that Tucker is correct in regard to these allowances. Paper Number: 6467/A/1846.
