Description | Folio 299. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to Chas Bond, Clerk to the Guardians of the Axminster Poor Law Union, requesting information with regard to the current use of the premises, formerly used as a workhouse, in the parish of Lyme Regis. In the year 1838 it was proposed that the premises should be let. The last communication from the Commissioners to the guardians on this subject was on the 18 April 1839, when they enquired about the terms of the letting. They now wished to be informed with regard to the current situation. Paper Number: 6979/a/1846. Poor Law Union Number 76. Counties: Devon and Dorset. |
