Description	Folios 349-350. Letter from Charles Bond, Clerk to the Guardians of the Axminster Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission replying to a letter from Mr Chadwick of 26 June 1846 regarding the letting of parish property. Bond had communicated with Mr Mansfield, Overseer of Lyme Regis, and found that there was no lease of the premises to Mr Osborne. An extract from the parish minute book showed that there was a public auction in 1839 for the term of 7, 14 or 21 years at the option of the taker. Osborne made the highest offer at £19 10 shillings per year, the overseers to pay the land tax and insurance. This was witnessed by Mr Poole, churchwarden and W Dunster, overseer, on 24 February 1839 and signed by S Osborne Senior, Surveyor and Sons, [Mr Follett Osborne] and James Osborne.
