Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to S M Phillipps, Whitehall, with regard to the relief of able-bodied labourers, informing Sir George Grey of further correspondence with the Axminster Poor Law Union. The outdoor labour order had been offered but the guardians thought they would not need it, from which the Commissioners infer that problems of able-bodied labourers were easing and so there was no necessity of fresh regulations.
