Description | Folio 16. Letter from Edwin Chadwick, Secretary to the Poor Law Commission, to Samuel King, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, referring to his letters of 11 January and 21 February, regarding to the sale of the East Dereham Workhouse property. The advice of counsel is that they are adamant that it would not be safe to sell the property on which the East Dereham Workhouse is built without the consent of the Crown or the officers of the land revenue.
