Description | Folio 80. Rough draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to P Gurdon Rector of Cranworth, Shipdham, Norfolk, sanctioning the payment of expenses for the emigration of the family of James Hubbard to New York [America] at a cost of £46 10s. Cost of travelling to the point of embarkation to be 3d per mile, 11s 2d for each child. If the emigrants can afford any of this, they should pay it themselves. The Commissio advises that the regulations in the enclosed circular should be strictly observed [not included]. Paper Number: 2124/A/1837 Poor Law Union Number 302. Counties: Norfolk. |
