Description | Folio 216. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to Samuel King, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, acknowledging his letter informing them of the names of the five gentlemen selected by the guardians to survey and value parishes in that union. They point out that although there is no objection to the wishes of the parishioners being consulted when selecting a valuer for their parishes it can only legally take place when an order has been issued by the Commissioners and the terms of each contract submitted to them for approval.
