Description | Folio 255. Letter from Samuel King, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Union, to Edwin Chadwick, Secretary to the Poor Law Commission. It refers to the repeated applications from the parishioners of East Dereham concerning the sale of the Dereham Workhouse and requesting the necessary forms and instructions to the parish to enable them to proceed with the sale. Annotated: 'Mr Parker urgent. Please to search for the sale papers and the opinion of Mr Colston the papers [intention] to letting and sent herewith appear to relate to a workhouse in another parish'. Paper Number: 517/A/1838.
