Description | Folio 357. Letter from Samuel King, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, informing them that Horatio Daveney, Medical Officer, had been reported by the auditor for the very negligent manner he keeps his medical books and weekly returns. Annotated: Acknowledge letter saying the Commissioners are impressed with the importance of the returns and as the returns are very simple, they consider that any wilful negligence in their preparation and transmission should first be admonished and if this is not sufficient then dismissal of the officer should follow.
