Description | Folio 358. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to Samuel King, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, acknowledging his letter of 1 August relating to the negligent manner in which the medical books and weekly returns have been kept by Horatio Daveney, Medical Officer. The Commissioners are impressed with the importance of the returns and say that as they are very simple they consider any wilful negligence in their preparation and transmission should be visited first with admonition and if this is not felt sufficient with the dismissal of the officer.
