Description | Folio 395. Letter from Samuel King, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, informing them that Thomas Mendham, Relieving Officer, had given notice of his intention to resign his office at the end of the present quarter which the board had accepted. The letter continues that Mendham had consented to continue with his duties until the guardians were able to procure a replacement. Annotated: this board can, for the future, do with 3 instead of 4 relieving officers in consequence of a new mode of managing the non-resident paupers but it is better that Mendham should remain in office a little longer. Paper Number: 10978/A/1838. Poor Law Union Number 302. Counties: Norfolk. |
