Description | Folios 86-87. Letter from William Ashton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission regarding the diet table for the paupers of the Basford Poor Law Union. The board of guardians appointed a committee comprising of J Riley, [Auditor to the Basford Poor Law Union], George Farrand, [Guardian to the Basford Poor Law Union], William Chouler. It mentions beer, bread and milk. Mentions the Governor and the mechanics of labours. Annotated: Acknowledge and state that Commissioners have made modifications to the dietary to be similar to other Unions; it will be issued under seal shortly.
