| Description | Folio 291. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to [William Ashton], Clerk to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union. They acknowledge receipt of Ashton's letter of 17 June 1837, and inform him that they sanction the reappointing of Wright Allen as medical officer of the 5th district of the Basford Poor Law Union at a salary of £50 per annum, and William Billings as medical officer of the 6th district at a salary of £30 per annum.
