Description | Folios 27-28. Letter from Mr Potter, Clerk to the Magistrates, Yoxford, Suffolk, to the Poor Law Commission, requesting answers to his questions: If a man has paid one shilling a week for the maintenance of a bastard child before the proposed last act by order of the magistrates, was he still liable to the same fine or for imprisonment for three months, in the case of non payment. If a bastard child was born one week before the proposed last act, can it be affiliated now or a similar fine and punishment be enforced in case of non payment. Annotated: the questions are to be answered in the affirmative. Poor Law Union Number 432. Counties: Suffolk. |
