Description Folio 197. Letter from T S Gooch, Benacre Hall, to the Poor Law Commission, about the requirement for an auditor to be elected. He wonders whether, to save expense, an efficient clerk could do the work instead? There appears to be no power to compel guardians to attend, although it is in their own interests to be vigilant.
