Description	Folios 299-301. Letter from Harry White, Clerk to the Guardians of the Blything Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission. On the 11 August he reported that the surgeons of the union were appointed by the guardians at salaries that amount to £400. He has had no reply to this but a new quarter starts on Monday and the board wish to consider the propriety of directing the surgeons to start their duties under the new arrangement. He asks that further letters to him should be addressed to Halesworth, Suffolk as they are sometimes three or four days getting to him as they are sent in to the distant counties as they post office does not know where the Blything Poor Law Union is situated. Annotated: the appointments should be sanctioned. The sum seems large but the union contains 49 parishes and it actually makes a saving in the medical department of about £300. His request about the direction deserves consideration. The post town and county should be written into the address. Poor Law Union Number 432. Counties: Suffolk.
