Description	Folio 346. Letter from Harry White, Clerk to the Guardians of the Blything Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, for England and Wales, in reply to their letter of 21 October 1835. This is regarding four families who are in receipt of relief in their parishes, and who have refused to move to other districts where work has been offered. The families are: W Smith and three children of Southwold, who have been receiving three shillings weekly for four years. Susan Maggs and four children of Walberswick, who have been receiving four shillings weekly for several years. Philip Chasson and eight children of Wrentham, who have been receiving seven to ten shillings weekly for 21 years. George Button and five children of Middleton, who have been receiving nominal relief for 10-12 years, but are not now chargeable. The relieving officer for the parish of Walberswick reported to the board that Maggs now wishes to migrate and will attend the next meeting of the board of guardians. Reference is made to a letter [not enclosed] to [Messers Sanon brothers] in response to their letter of 17 October 1835. Poor Law Union Number 432. Counties: Suffolk.
