Description | Folios 450-451. Letter from the Reverend Stephen Clissold, Rector of Wrentham, to the Poor Law Commission, putting forward his proposals for the establishment of a Union Police. He requests the Poor Law Commission respond, before he puts the proposals to the board of guardians on the 14 December 1835. Annotated: draft letter, dated 4 December 1835, from the Poor Law Commission to Clissold, acknowledging receipt of the above letter. Consideration of the proposals is necessary, before a response can be given, as they feel a Union Police would only have an incidental effect on the administration of the Poor Law. Poor Law Union Number 432. Counties: Suffolk. |
