Description | Folio 465. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission, to the Reverend Stephen Clissold, Rector of Wrentham, in response to his letter of the 15 December 1835. They thank him for his observations on the rise in criminal activity, but inform him that they require a lengthy investigation before a definite answer can be given. The Poor Law Commission support, in principle, the proposal to initiate regular communication and meetings with the board of guardians of other Unions, but point out that several similar meetings have taken place without success. Annotated: copied and sent. Poor Law Union Number 432. Counties: Suffolk. |
