Description | Folio 126. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to William Hughes, Auditor of Devon and Cornwall District, relating to the irregular manner in which the accounts of the Truro Poor Law Union have been kept. Referring to his letter of 24 November 1847 and in particular his comment that he has pointed out that certain charges are illegal and has disallowed them accordingly, the Commission wishes to have a list of the officers against whom disallowances have been made and the parishes and unions in which such disallowances have taken place.
