Description | Folios 128-130. Letter from R M Hodge [Richard Michell Hodge], Clerk to the Guardians of the Truro Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, sending a copy of a minute of a meeting of the board of guardians relating to workhouse accommodation. The copy minute states that, there being an excess of inmates in the St Clement Workhouse over the limited number of 5, a special meeting will be held to consider workhouse accommodation. Annotated by Mr Gulson [Edward Gulson, Assistant Poor Law Commissioner]: request to be informed of the result of the meeting and state that no satisfactory arrangements can be made, except by the erection of a new central workhouse for the use of the union.
