Description | Folio 159. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to R M Hodge [Richard Michell Hodge], Clerk to the Guardians of the Truro Poor Law Union, relating to the names of candidates and number of votes given in the election of a collector of poor rates for the parish of Kenwyn. The Commission points out that Joseph Carne was not duly appointed to this office, he not having been elected by a majority of the guardians present at the meeting. The guardians must therefore proceed to a new election. Paper Number: 18834/A/1847. Poor Law Union Number 57. Counties: Cornwall. |
