Description | Folios 193-194. Letter from R M Hodge [Richard Michell Hodge], Clerk to the Guardians of the Truro Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, sending copy notice of a motion given at a meeting of the guardians on 19 January 1848. The notice states that, with the view of relieving workhouses, George Clyma intends to move that some plan be adopted for placing all boys and girls therein of an age fit for service in some way of earning a livelihood.
