Description | Folio 214. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to R M Hodge [Richard Michell Hodge], Clerk to the Guardians of the Truro Poor Law Union, referring to the resolutions passed by the guardians on 16 February 1848 relative to the state of the three union workhouses. The board wishes to have a copy of the letter from the St Clement Workhouse Medical Officer mentioned in the resolutions. As the resolutions contain no reference to the propriety of building a new workhouse, the board again urges the guardians to consider this necessity, as the existing workhouses are inadequate for the requirements of so important a union as Truro. Paper Number: 5184/1848. Poor Law Union Number 57. Counties: Cornwall. |
