Description | Folios 453-454. Letter from R M Hodge [Richard Michell Hodge], Clerk to the Guardians of the Truro Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, enclosing a copy of a resolution passed by the board of guardians. He informs them that they have entered into a contract to buy the land for the new workhouse. The owner of the land wants to know if the contract is going to be carried into effect and the guardians want to obtain the stone for the building. Copy of a resolution that, as no letter from the Poor Law Board has been received, the clerk should write to them requesting their immediate attention to the matter. Annotated: Workhouse order sent 5 April 1849. State that the Board will peruse the draft of the conveyance as soon as it is sent to them. Paper Number: 10662/1849. Poor Law Union Number 57.
