Description | Folio 114. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to the master [W Barlow] of the Bishops Stortford Poor Law Union. They understand from the guardians that he is in the habit of looking every night at the book the porter is required to keep under Article 214, Number 2 of the Regulations [Consolidated Order] and that he sometimes writes remarks in it for the guidance of the porter, and makes erasures and marks. They ask why he has interfered with the book and what changes he has made. Paper Number: 38438/1850. Poor Law Union Number 167. Counties: Hertfordshire and Essex. |
