| Description | Folio 119. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Mr Barlow [W Barlow], Master of the Bishops Stortford Poor Law Union workhouse. They accept his explanation of why he interfered with the porter's book, and doubt that there is any impropriety in his inspecting it from time to time. However, he should not add any remarks or make changes to the book; instead he should take up any errors verbally with the porter, and refer the matter on to the guardians if necessary.
