Description | Folios 155-158. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board, to John D Taylor, Clerk to the Guardians of the Bishop's Stortford Poor Law Union, enclosing copies of two teaching certificates for the year ended 25 March 1851. Enclosed: Teaching certificates from the Committee of the Council on Education awarded to William Savill, Master of Bishop's Stortford Poor Law Union Workhouse School, and Jane Harris, Mistress of Bishop's Stortford Poor Law Union Workhouse School, based on the inspection by E C Tufnell, Her Majesty's Inspector of Parochial Union Schools. The certificates show the Poor Law Board's estimate of the candidate's qualifications and the sums allowed from the Parliamentary Grant for teachers. R R W Lingen signed the forms. Annotated: copies of certificates sent to the poor law inspector. Paper Number: 55104/1850 and 55105/1850. Poor Law Union Number 167. Counties: Hertfordshire and Essex. |
