| Description | Folio 488. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Mr J B Bowker of Bishops Stortford. The letter is in reply to correspondence from Bowker to the Poor Law Board relating to the assessment of the poor rates for premises in Bishops Stortford which are occupied by Mr B Griffin. The letter states that they are enclosing a copy of a letter which they received from the overseers of the parish (not included) and also states that the law does not enable the Poor Law Board to interfere to make any order as to the rating of the property in question.
