Description | Folio 493. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to John Dobede Taylor, Clerk to the Guardians of the Bishops Stortford Poor Law Union, sanctioning the appointment of Miss Annie Spencer as schoolmistress at the Bishops Stortford Union Workhouse, for a trial period of six months. A report is to be sent to the Board at the end of the trial period. Annotated: no report from the guardians as to this officer's efficiency. 26 January 1853. Paper Number: 28962/1852.
