Description | Folios 529-530. Inspection of Parochial Union Schools Form XXII from the Committee of Council on Education, Downing Street, to John Cole, Master of the Bishops Stortford Parochial Union School. The form states that the Committee of Council on Education has examined the report of E C Tufnell, H M Inspector of Parochial Schools, on 14 June 1852, The certificates show the board's estimate of the candidate's qualifications and the sums allowed from the Parliamentary Grant for teachers. Also a letter from H Fleming, Assistant Secretary to the Poor Law Board, to the clerk to the guardians of the Bishops Stortford Poor Law Union, referring to the certificate awarded by the Committee of Council on Education to John Cole, Master of the Bishops Stortford Parochial Union School Annotated: see 35082/1852 letter from the Committee of Council on Education.
