Description | Folio 598. Letter from Samuel Emson, [Collector of Poor Rates and Assistant Overseer for Bishops Stortford parish, Bishops Stortford Poor Law Union], to the Poor Law Board, replying to their letter of 4 December 1852. He explains that he did not present an unpaid rates statement to the auditor [Daniel Goodson Adey, District Auditor for Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire] as he did not know this was required.
