Description | Folio 530. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to Rev Thomas Powell, Chaplain to the Kidderminster Poor Law Union. They refer to his letters of the 16 and 23 November 1846 and inform him that they have received a statement on Ann Tyler from the Kidderminster Board of Guardians. They state that they have made no proposition and doubt that they are inclined to send her to the penitentiary in Birmingham even though they could legally pay the costs out of the poor rates.
