Description | Folios 222-223. Letter from J B Easey, Churchwarden, and James Easey, Overseer, Dunwich, [Blything Poor Law Union], to the Poor Law Commission, giving details of emigration from Dunwich: Provisions to Quebec [Canada], £22 8s 6½;d. Allowed for travel in Canada, £23 6s 6d. Horses and carriages to Lowestoft 17 miles, £2 12s. Freight by the Albion engaged by the union, £29 9s 10d. Total, £77 16s 10½;d. £33 13s 5¼;d was a gift from proprietors of Dunwich. £38 18s 5¼;d was from the poor rate. The above amounts were agreed by the board of guardians and parishioners of Dunwich. Annotated: Mr Parker. Paper Number: 1499/A/1837. Poor Law Union Number 432. Counties: Suffolk. |
