Description | Folio 154. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission, to Harry White, Clerk to the Guardians of the Blything Poor Law Union, stating they have received from Dr Kay [James Phillips Kay, Assistant Poor Law Commissioner], a copy of two resolutions passed at the meeting of the board of guardians on 19 September 1836. In reference to the first resolution, the Poor Law Commission have issued an order confirming the regulation already being used, that no outdoor relief shall be given to able-bodied male paupers. On the second resolution they sanction the payment of the salaries of the policemen who have acted as watchmen in the workhouse at Bulcamp. Paper Number: 4088/A/1836. Poor Law Union Number 432.
