Description | Folios 159-161. Letter from T Watkins, Clerk to the Guardians of the Cardiff Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, regarding the representation from the parish of Lancarvan [Llancarvan]. Since the Poor Law Commission gave their order in 1839 for a valuation, there have been fluctuations in the value of land which necessitate a new valuation. Enclosed is a request for a valuation from the board of guardians for the valuation to be sanctioned. Also enclosed is the request for a valuation from Thomas Howell, Churchwarden, and Thomas John and William Thomas, Overseers, Lancarvan [Llancarvan]. Annotated: issue order and inform the guardians.
